Do you know the difference between and active and a passive business?
In an active business, you work then get paid. If you want more money, you work again, then get paid again. Most people follow the active business model. Owning a business that requires your continuous efforts and time is an active business. Having a job also follows the active business model.
In the passive business model, you work once and get paid over and over again. Owning a business that does not require your time is a passive business. There are many passive business opportunities out there, and I am not going to go over all of them here. I have an Internet marketing business for the purpose of passive income (if you are interested, check out my blog “Failure Is Not An Option“). I want to tell you how you can make a passive business out of energy deregulation.
You can make money every single month for a small amount of effort up front. And the best part is you get to help other people save energy, save money, and help our environment. This blog is all about deregulated power and how to save money with deregulated power. If your home or business is in a deregulated state, you too can save money. So you can build a passive business by helping other people save money. There are several deregulated energy suppliers you can use to build your passive business. I looked at Ambit Energy. It was ok, but I did not like the payout. I chose Viridian Energy because of three things… (1) Viridian has the best payout to me; (2) I can build my passive business online as well as offline (Ambit does not have the online component); and (3) Viridian has the best rates and greenest energy for the customer.
So remember, you can build a passive business with the deregulation of energy. Help people change their energy supplier and you make money. You can help people offline, by telling people you know and meet. You can help people online by sending them to your fully automated signup link. Either way, once they make the switch, you get paid each and every month. And they will continue to save money each month too!

can you tell me if the price is really a 30% off my rate? or they just say that to sign someone up?

Hi Larry,
There are a lot of people who inadvertently mislead, and I am NOT one of them. Allow me to clarify… the advertised amount is “up to 30% off”. There are several factors that will dictate the actual savings (and yes, there are actual savings!). First, there is two parts to your electrical bill… the generation portion and the delivery portion. Generation refers to the actual purchase of electricity, and this is the part where the savings occur. Rates vary from utility to utility, so in order to generalize, they can only advertise “up to”. Secondly, electric rates change based on market prices. Viridian, like other companies, purchase energy in advance and negotiate prices based on market conditions as well as other variables such as the quantity of energy purchased. Like any other business, the cost of material (in this case, energy) will fluctuate and therefore the savings percentage will also fluctuate. Lastly, the more energy you use, more often than not, the greater your savings. I do not want to be vague, so I will let you know that most often the savings are between 10% and 20%.
